Frequently Asked Questions
All my notes completely disappeared after a restart or update. How can I bring them back?
This is known bug and I work hard to find a solution. Until then you can solve the problem by pressing the add/+ button and the notes should appear.
I accidentally deleted notes. Can I bring them back from the trash?
Yes, in the new version you can open the trash by pressing the "Open trash" button and then recreate the already deleted notes.
I want to switch from another note taking app to JustNotes. How can I import my notes to JustNotes?
At the moment JustNotes supports importing from plaintext (.txt) and Evernote xml (.enex) files. To start importing, press the "Import" button in the preferences (in "Note" section) and select the files you want to import. If you enabled the dock icon you can start importing by selecting File->Import... from the menu bar.
I want to backup my notes manually. How can I export the notes from JustNotes?
Select the notes you want to export, then right click on the notes to open the context menu and select Export... If you enabled the dock icon you can start exporting by selecting the notes you want to export and then select File->Export... from the menu bar.
Can I use JustNotes without Simplenote?
Yes, JustNotes can be used without any synchronization.
How do I save my notes?
The notes will be saved automatically.
How do I synchronize my notes?
The notes will be synchronized automatically with the Simplenote server. You can manually start the synchronization process by pressing the button at the bottom left.
How will the notes be sorted?
In the current version the notes will be sorted by the modified date. There are plans to support manual ordering.
Are there plans to support synchronization with other services?
Yes, there are plans but I can't give you more details at the moment.
Is there something that I have to keep in mind when using a test build of JustNotes?
